The Virginia Institute of Marine Sciences (VIMS) is one of the leading authorities on SAV research. VIMS coordinates with the USFWS studies to compile SAV data across the Chesapeake Bay area. Visit the VIMS site for interesting information on all types of marine and aquatic research.

The Chesapeake Bay Program operates an excellent site that provides numerous photographs of SAV as well as information regarding the different threats to SAV species.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources has done a wonderful job of creating a "user friendly" SAV site. Their page includes an easy to operate key to SAV identification as well as information about the Bay Grasses in Classes program in which several Calvert County Schools participate.

The U.S.F.W.S. operates a site that provides good background information on the importance of SAV to fish and wildlife species as well as a number of links to other SAV related sites.

The Chesapeake Bay Foundation plays a very active role in SAV restoration and education across the Chesapeake Bay watershed. CBF partners with the MD DNR to implement the Bay Grasses in Classes program. This site helps illustrate numerous Bay-related action projects that are targeted for student participation.
