Applying for a Position with Calvert County Public Schools
All applications for positions with Calvert County Public Schools (CCPS) must be completed online via the AppliTrack system, as handwritten, hard copy applications are no longer accepted.
Before beginning the process, make sure you have email addresses available for anyone you plan to list as a reference. You may not list your own email address for those persons that you list as a reference source. The reference surveys will automatically be sent electronically to each of your references when you submit your application. Hard copy references are no longer accepted; however, you will have the option of uploading them as an attachment to your electronic application, along with resumes, diplomas, etc.
The references you list should be work related, in lieu of friends. References from relatives are not acceptable. A minimum of three satisfactory references must be received in order for you to be considered for a position with CCPS.
Applications should be completed using proper capitalization and punctuation. Please do not use all upper case nor all lower case letters.
You may choose the position type of interest to you from the vacancies listed to the left of the screen and then choose “Apply” to the right for the position in which you are interested.
Choose the appropriate category of “External Applicants--Start an Application for Employment” or “Internal Applicants--View Internal Positions.” (Current substitutes, grant and miscellaneous employees must apply as "External" applicants.)
Read the “Welcome New Applicants” section.
Complete each screen and choose “Next Page.” Make sure you list the email for yourself that you check frequently, as you may receive email messages and interview invitations via AppliTrack from the Human Resources Department.
Continue through each page until you have completed all appropriate sections. When complete, choose “Finish and Submit.”
At any time, you may log back in to your application to see if your references have been received.
You will not be able to see the actual reference, as they are confidential; however, it will tell you if they have been completed. It is your responsibility to follow-up on any missing references. If they have not been received in an appropriate amount of time, you have the option to “Re-Send” them yourself.
If you are applying for any of our Substitute positions, you will also need to come in to the Human Resources Department after completing and submitting your application to pay the $20.00 deposit (cash only) towards your $40.00 fingerprinting cost and to complete the “Livescan Fingerprint Registration Form.” This will ensure you of an invitation to one of our Substitute Orientations.
